ENUGU DISCO LAUNCHES MULTI-BILLION NAIRA METERING NETWORK SCHEME

Enugu state, Enugu Electricity Distribution Company –EEDC, has kicked off its integrated network improvement programme which stands as the most ambitious programme by any DISCO. The programme which will commence this week will be the most sophisticated GIS programme to be embarked in Sub-Saharan Africa.

According to the Communications manager, Eugene Aniowo, “the GIS will provide a digital map of the entire South-East Nigeria. Other spin off from the project will include providing identification of every road, street and property in the region which will be used to develop a comprehensive addressing system with post code, among others as obtained in developed countries. This action will boost security in the region.
