IBRAHIM MAGU: THE NEW EFCC BOSS

Assistant Commissioner, Ibrahim Magu replaces Ibrahim Lamorde of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) as the new boss.

Though removed by Farida Waziri in 2008 with other key officials, Ibrahim Magu is remembered as a no nonsense investigator of the commission at its inception. Magu was brought back to EFCC by his predecessor.

He spearheaded investigation into the collapse of Societe Generale Bank of Nigeria, and was instrumental to the conviction of Mr. James Ibori, former Governor of Delta State, over issues of money laundering and corrupt enrichment in the United Kingdom.
