NIGERIAN - AMERICAN OLUROTIMI AKINOSHO GETS SIGNED TO G-UNIT RECORDS IN THE US

Olurotimi Akinosho, better known by his stage name, Rotimi, is a Nigeria – American singer songwriter, actor and model. The founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FrontRoSeat Productions was born in Maplewood, New Jersey, to Nigerian parents and attended Columbia High School. He continued his studies at Northwestern University and graduated with a Communications minor in Business.

Rotimi’s acting career started with the series Boss (2011) and he acted as a drug dealer with the name Darius Morrison. He later appeared on the CBS pilot episode, “Cooper & Stone” (2011) and in three reoccurring episodes of ABC’s Betrayal (2013).

His film debut was Black Nativity (2013). Following this, he started in Imperial Dreams (2014) which won the “Best of NEXT” award. Due to the high growth generated, I consider Divergent (2014) as his most successful.

Recently, he was added to the cast of Starz TV series Power as a series regular, in the role of “Dre”, the quick-tempered young protégé of Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s character. His recent cast is on Battle Creek (2015).

Rotimi has performed on stage, opening for Jennifer Hudson, T.I., Estelle, and NERD; he also appeared in R&B singer Keyshia Cole’s music video “Trust and Believe” as Cole’s unfaithful boyfriend.
